A tradition in Governor's Harbor since 1996, the Friday Night Fish Fry is a "Real Bahamas" experience for the whole family. Locals and visitors gather here for great island barbeque and fried fish, prepared from fish caught that day. Conch salad by The Ninja Conch, is made from live conch as you watch. JJ has a lot of "artist" in him and watching him work is a treat.
Enjoy ice cold domestic and imported beer, drinks made to order, or try our world famous Rum Bubba. There is island music and dancing in the street, the right combination of good Bahamian food, warm and friendly people and the comfortable feeling that is Eleuthera. "It's an ilean ting mon." The Friday Nighy Fish Fry is managed by Governor's Harbor Development Association, a non-profit, community operated, organization, manned by volunteers. Funds collected at the Fish Fry, are channeled back into the community in the form of services to the elderly and equipment for trash collection and island clean-up efforts.
Bone fishermen can wrap up a day of bonefishing on the flat in front of Haynes Library, or the one behind the Fish Fry building.
